How It All Began
Just a little about Savvy Cakes ( formerly...Just Desserts)...
It all started when a group of friends got together and decided to have a
place where people can go to buy irresistible desserts made from
scratch with the finest ingredients - a place where customer service and
quality still matter. Lately, it seems, everything comes in a box ready
to make and is advertised as "homemade".
This is not Savvy Cakes' way!!
We use pure vanilla extract, real butter, whole milk, quality chocolate,
fresh eggs, and we bake from scratch.
Our executive Pastry Chef is Heather Choquette, "The Dessert Diva", who
attended the famed Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude (highest honors) and served as Vice President of the Pastry Club. She was chosen to work with some of the most highly regarded pastry chefs in the country at the #1 rated Sea Island Resort on St. Simons Island, GA. At the urging of her peers, she decided to display her skill with her own bakery - the award winning Just Desserts!
We then added fresh made sandwiches, done the way we remember from up north, made on the grill with buttery bread, and our famous house made sauces.
In 2012 we had an addition to our family , Savryn (Savvy) , Heather stayed home with our bundle of joy until 2016,and when she returned we decided to make a change in our location, so after 11 years in Jefferson, we moved our bakery to Statham and changed our name to Savvy Cakes to include our greatest love. In Statham we also added fresh creamery made ice cream.
In 2018 we added Savvy's Space , our craft workshop and party space.
As you can see, our little dream has grown into a great family business in a wonderful town .
We are truly lucky and thankful for our fantastic, supportive customers, many who have followed us through our growing pains.
